Ava Aube
BASI Pilates
Ava is originally from Hampton Bays, New York, and graduated in May 2024 from The University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Ballet Performance and a minor in Health and Exercise Science. She has performed and learned works by renowned choreographers such as George Balanchine, Jiří Kylián, Jerome Robbins, and William Forsythe. She also performed in Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker with Texas Ballet Theater’s Studio Training Company. Ava is currently working towards earning her BASI Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Certificate. Ava was first introduced to Pilates as a form of cross-training to help build strength to enhance her ballet technique. She recognized imbalances in her body that Pilates could help address. While in school, she continued her practice and completed her Mat Pilates Certification through the Physical Mind Institute. Ava’s passion for Pilates deepened when she started using it as a form of rehabilitation for her injuries. This led her to begin her journey to becoming a Pilates instructor. Similar to ballet, Ava loves how Pilates continuously pushes individual’s toward personal self-improvement and encourages people to never stop learning. Ava is also a ballet instructor and, in both fields, loves helping people integrate movement into their everyday lives! |
